Wrestler Keenan Hagerty Comes up One Point Short in Title Match

Hagerty's 149-Division Bracket

Freshman Keenan Hagerty came up just one point short of winning Maryville’s first NCAA Division II National Championship in wrestling as he fell 5-4 in the championship match to Raufeon Stots of Nebraska-Kearney in Pueblo, Colo., Saturday evening.

Hagerty, who became the first Saint to earn All-America honors, advanced to the finals of the 149-pound division by dominating Grand Canyon’s Bobby Ward 7-1 in the semifinals earlier in the morning session. Hagerty capped off an outstanding freshman campaign with a 30-5 record this season.
