Men’s Golf Rallies to Post Third-Place Finish at UIS

The Maryville men’s golf team shot the low round of the day and rallied to post a third-place finish at the UIS Spring Tournament at Pekin Country Club. The Saints were tied for eighth place after day one but saw all five of their golfers score 78 or better to finish the day with a 300, make up five places in the standings and finished tied with Rockhurst.
 
Junior Dustin Harris topped Maryville with a two-day total of 153, and he and freshman Jack McKinney both led the team with final day 74s. McKinney and junior Michael Fowler were just one shot back of Harris at 154. Alex Doneff finished with a 155, while Nick Lees carded a 75 en route to a 157 for the tourney.
 
Host school Illinois Springfield took team honors with a 602 total, while Drury was second at 611. UIS’s Shane McCafferty won the individual medalist honors in a playoff.
