Principia Scoresheet in PDF
The Maryville women’s tennis team won three singles matches but was unable to pick up any more points as it was tripped up 6-3 at Principia Thursday evening in Elsah, Ill.
The Saints fell behind early before mounting a comeback. Principia took all three of the doubles matches to grab the early lead. Chelsea Travis put the first point on the board for the Saints as she was victorious 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Nicole Kaltwasser also prevailed in straight sets at No. 4. In perhaps the best match of the day, Maria Lesko battled to win a thrilling 13-11 tiebreak at No. 6 singles. However, the Saints comeback stalled as Maryville was unable to win enough points to overcome Principia’s edge from doubles play.
