Men's Golf Finishes Regional in 10th Place

Competing at the NCAA Division II Regionals at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky., the Maryville men’s golf team came home in 10th place in the 25-team field. The Saints opened the tournament with a 302 but surpassed that with a 298 and finished at 600. Maryville ranked fifth out of the Great Lakes Valley Conference schools.
 
On the par 72 course which played at 7,007 yards, Jack McKinney placed first among the Saints with a 74-73=147, good for a tie in 18th place. Dustin Harris carded a first-round 79 but fired one of the best rounds of day two with an even par 72 to finish in a tie for 41st. Nick Lees was third on the squad at 151, and Alex Doneff was next for the Saints with a 156. One stroke back at 157 was Rob Maruska, who improved his first round total by seven shots in the second round.
 
Northern Kentucky and Indianapolis tied for the team title at 584 but NKU won the championship on the first playoff hole. Trent Davison from Ferris State was the medalist and shot a three-under 141.
