Saint Joseph’s Slips Past Saints in Tennis Finale

In its final match of the 2012 spring season, the Maryville women’s tennis team lost a 7-2 decision to Saint Joseph’s. The Saints took a point in both singles and doubles but the Pumas took advantage in singles to post the win.
 
Maria Lesko and Anna Hindelang earned the Saints a point with a 9-7 victory at No. 3 doubles. In the other two doubles slots Maryville won three games, however, SJC finished with 8-3 wins. Nicole Kaltwasser worked to record a 6-3, 6-3 win for the Saints at No. 4 singles. At the top singles position, Chelsea Travis took the first set 6-2, but her SJC foe rallied to take set two and the tiebreaker in the third. Lauren Land battled in a 6-4, 6-2 loss, while Lesko also narrowly missed out on a win at No. 6 singles, dropping a 6-3, 6-2 contest.
