The Maryville women’s tennis squad took the early lead with two doubles wins and went on to post a 6-3 triumph at Lindenwood-Belleville.
 
Chelsea Travis and Nicole Kaltwasser snared the first point of the match with an 8-2 win at the top doubles spot. Lauren Land and Valerie Saxton continued the surge with an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles. The final doubles match tilted in LU-Belleville’s favor by a narrow 9-7 decision.
 
Travis only dropped one game in each set to take the point at No. 1 singles, while Natalie Pfremmer registered a 6-2, 7-5 triumph at No. 3. Maria Lesko secured the final decisive point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. Kaltwasser registered the final point of the match for the Saints with a 10-3 win in a third set tiebreaker.
