FInal Results from NCAA Regional #4 Play in PDF
The Maryville men’s golf squad improved three spots in the team standings as they closed out NCAA Regional No. 4 play Monday at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind. The par 72 course played at 7,268 and is one of the most difficult courses in the Midwest.
The Saints finished in 18th place in the 25-team regional field with a two-day total of 646. Four of the five team members either matched or improved on their scores from the first day. Leading the way for Maryville was Jack McKinney who followed up an opening-round 78 with a 77 on day two to finish tied for 21st individually. Michael Fowler was second on the team, just three shots back at 158. Nick Lees bested his opening round by seven shot, and Dustin Harris carded back-to-back 84s. Alex Doneff closed the tournament by improving his score by three strokes. The Saints finished ahead of three other Great Lakes Valley Conference schools.
Tiffin University claimed the team title with a 607, topping Northwood by one shot. Northern Kentucky’s Jones Brown took medalist honors with a 145.
