Nick Doherty keyed a Maryville attack that scored its most goals scored in a game since the 2008 season as he had two crucial goals in the Saints’ two road games.
At Southwest Baptist, Doherty’s first goal tied the game in the 38th minute after the Saints had fallen behind 1-0. He then tallied the eventual game-winning goal in the 65th minute of play to boost the Saints to their 7-2 season-opening win. Against Newman, Doherty directed the Saints attack as they stayed unbeaten in a 0-0 draw
