Donnell Walker won the heavyweight championship at Maryville’s Kaufman-Brand Open. Ranked No. 2 in the nation at 285, he went 4-0 on the day to claim the title. After a first-round bye, Walker defeated Brian Pence of Lindenwood 8-4, then took a 7-4 decision over Missouri Valley College’s Justin Smith. In the semifinals, Walker posted an 8-3 win against Luis Contreras of Missouri Baptist. In the finals, Walker faced Jake McKiernan of Division I Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and recorded a 4-2 victory in overtime.
