At 197, Ryan Beltz won two crucial late matches to help the wrestling team win the NWCA National Duals. He posted a 5-1 win against Lindenwood in the quarterfinals and provided the winning points in a 4-3 victory in the semifinals against St. Cloud State. In the championship match, the Saints trailed No. 1 Notre Dame 15-9 as Beltz took the mat. He recorded a crucial extra point by winning in a major decision 12-4, setting the stage for Donnell Walker’s win to rally the Saints over the top-ranked team 16-15.
