Nick Burghardt finished second in the 184-pound classification and helped Maryville take third overall at the NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championship. He began his day with a 5-0  shutout and followed up with a 16-0 tech fall. Burghardt recorded a 5-3 decision in the semifinals to reach the title match. In the finals, he battled and nearly had a late takedown but was edged 4-3 in the championship final.
