At the Six Flags Open Cross Country Meet, Djurre Hoeksema was the first Maryville runner across the finish line. He was sixth overall with a time of 27:37.88 over an 8K course that was wet and muddy due to rain in the metro St. Louis area. Hoeksema led the Maryville men's team to a second-place finish in the field of 10 teams.
