In the outdoor season opener at Southern Illinois University, Drew Kowalski set a new school record in the pole vault with a mark of 14 feet, 1-3/4 inches to take seventh place. He also garnered a top-10 finish in the javelin with a throw of 115 feet, 1/4 inches, good for ninth place.
