Indianapolis –
Sheridon Sprague tossed a complete game in the nightcap to help the Maryville softball team earn a split with the University of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon at Baumgartner Field. The Greyhounds scored three times in sixth inning to take the first game of the day 3-0 while the Saints scored in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie to give Maryville a 2-1 win.
Game One:
The two teams squared off in a pitcher's duel over the first six innings as Saints starting pitcher
Alyssa Callans retired 14 straight Greyhounds before UIndy grabbed the lead in the sixth. UIndy used a two-out single and a pair of home runs to take a 3-0 advantage after six innings. The Greyhounds limited Maryville to only three hits to claim the first game of the doubleheader.

Game Two:
The Saints got things going in the top of the first as
Courtney Ferguson hit a single to right field and then stole second base.
Jaclyn Pasakarnis singled to drive in Ferguson to give Maryville a 1-0 advantage. The Greyhounds pushed across a run in the second to tie the score at 1-1. The Saints broke through in the top of the sixth as Pasakarnis lifted a double to center field and scored on a Callans single up the middle to give Maryville a 2-1 lead. The Greyhounds had a chance to tie the game in the home half of the sixth but after a single to right field,
Emily Frankenreiter had a perfect throw to home to cut down the possible tying run with two outs in the inning.
