Belleville, Ill. - In its first dual match of the season, the Maryville women's tennis squad shut out Lindenwood-Belleville with a 9-0 victory.
 
Georgina Cupper and Sandra Hinterberger won at the top doubles slot 8-0. Clara Bascunana and Ashley Dowden dropped just one game in an 8-1 victory in the second doubles match. The Saints picked up the final doubles point in a walkover.
 
Bascunana won the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-1, while Cupper eased to a 6-3, 6-2 decision in the second singles slot. Dowden lost only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 3, and Maya Biesterfeld posted a 6-3, 6-0 win in the fourth slot. Hinterberger won all 12 games to win her No. 5 singles match.
