What Happened
Claire Martin won the opening draw control and eventually scored on the first possession 43 seconds into the game to give the Saints the early lead. On Maryville's next offensive possession, Lexi Taylor converted a free-position shot from a steep angle on the right for a 2-0 advantage. Jessie Hynes fired in a shot in a transition chance, and Bri Laster converted a free-position chance from straight on as Maryville went up 4-0 less than nine minutes into the tilt. Off the ensuing draw, Martin scored again for a 5-0 lead.

The Maryville margin grew to 7-0 as the Saints kept the Bobcats off the scoreboard until the 16:44 mark of the first half. After WVW tallied its only goal of the first half, the Saints continued to roll on the offensive end and fired in eight more goals for a 15-1 lead. Maryville converted six of eight free-position attempts to power the attack.

The Saints tacked on three more goals in the second half to surpass the previous record for goals in a game of 17 set at Missouri Valley Feb. 22, 2020. Maryville has reached double digits in scoring in four of five games. Martin led the Saints with four goals, while Jessie Hynes recorded a hat trick.
