The Maryville men's tennis team began its 2021 spring campaign by downing Principia 7-2 Tuesday evening.

The Saints won the doubles matches at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the early lead.
Bodin Aleksic and
Jack Beuttell-Triggs took an 8-7 (7-3) decision at the second slot, while
Juan Segura and
Fernando De Andres Orea combined for an 8-0 shutout victory.

Aleksic took the point at No. 2 singles with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win, and
Tom Schmitt rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3.
Sebastian Trigosso won the fourth singles match 6-1, 6-3, while
Donovan McKnight cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 decision at the fifth slot. De Andres Orea won 12 of 13 games to post a 6-0, 6-1 win at the final singles position.
