St. Louis - The Maryville men's tennis team won the doubles point against McKendree Friday at Dwight Davis Tennis Center but saw the Bearcats rally in singles play for a 6-1 win.
At doubles No. 1,
Juan Segura and
Sebastian Trigosso posted a 6-2 victory.
Bodin Aleksic and
Jack Beuttell-Triggs posted a 6-3 win at No. 2 and locked up the first point of the match. However, McKendree swept all six singles matches to win the contest. Trigosso forced a superset tiebreak at No. 5 singles but lost an 11-9 decision. Schmitt did the same but was tripped up 10-5.
The Saints host their final home match of the season when Illinois Springfield visits. The contest is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. but may be delayed due to an inclement weather for
