St. Louis - Powered by its singles play, the Maryville men's tennis team beat Lindenwood 5-2 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match held at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park. The Saints won five of the six singles matches to key the victory.
 
The Lions took the first point of the match by winning two of the three doubles contests. Erik Aarthun and Juan Suero claimed a 6-3 victory at No. 3. However, the Saints rallied as the contest moved to singles play.
 
Mario Aleksic dropped the opening set 4-6 but rallied for a 6-2, 6-1 decision at the top slot. Jack Beuttell-Triggs rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 victory in his match at No. 2.
