St. Louis - The Maryville softball team challenged No. 2 Indianapolis but the Greyhounds prevailed in both contests Sunday afternoon. UIndy rallied for a 4-1 win in game one and took the finale 7-0.

Both starting pitchers,
Emersen Heron and Kenzee Smith dominated as neither gave up a hit over the first three innings. UIndy got a bunt single for the game's first hit in the fourth inning. The Saints were still looking for their initial hit until
Erin Sammelmann tripled to left center in the bottom of the fifth.
Olivia Jarvis lashed an RBI single to center to put the Saints on top 1-0. However, the Greyhounds hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth for the winning margin.

UIndy game two recap
The Greyhounds pushed across four runs in the top of the second for all the offense they would need. UIndy had six singles to bring home all four runs in the frame. Sammelmann singled and took second after a walk. She reached third after a sac bunt but was stranded in scoring position.

The Saints had Jarvis and
Melanie Nelson notch back-to-back singles in the fourth inning but were unable to bring home a run.
Kylie Swinney singled in the fifth, and
Shaina Kmetz doubled in the seventh but the Saints were unable to chase a run home.
