St. Louis - The Maryville women's tennis squad defeated Rockhurst 4-2 in a nonconference match held at Sunset Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.
 
Billur Gonlusen and Carolina Velazquez edged out a 7-6 tiebreak win to win at No. 1 doubles. The Hawks took the No. 2 match but Maria Gouveia and Marios Paula Suarez won their No. 3 match in a 6-2 score as the Saints earned the team point in doubles.
 
Singles action saw Emily Orlove win at No. 3 6-3, 6-2, while Billur Gonlusen claimed her top singles match in a super tiebreak. Velazquez did the same in the third set to win at No. 2.
