St. Louis - Sydney Tiemann scored the game-winning goal with 20.5 seconds left as the Maryville women's lacrosse team rallied for a scintillating 12-11 victory over Missouri Western. Missouri Western recap
Lexi Taylor put the Saints ahead with a goal midway through the first quarter. Missouri Western tied the game as the first 15 minutes ended tied at 1-1. The Griffons surged ahead with four goals in the second, and the visitors scored to open the third quarter to make it 6-1. That set the stage for Maryville's dramatic comeback.

Jessie Hynes and Skyler Jolie scored back-to-back goals to pull the Saints to within 6-3. The Griffons tacked on to their lead before Tiemann and Hynes tallied to cut the deficit to 7-5. Maryville still trailed 8-6 going into the fourth.

Missouri Western scored the next goal but Tiemann answered, again. The gap was 10-7 with 11:46 left before Tiemann fired in two more goals. The Griffons pushed their advantage to 11-9 with 8:44 remaining. Tiemann had the answer with 5:48 to play, and she tied it at the 2:40 mark. MWSU won the next draw control and earned a free-position shot with 1:51 to play. Maryville goalie Jo Miles came up with the save to give the Saints the ball back. After a timeout, Tiemann pushed the ball up the right side of the field, and at a steep angle, fired in a shot to the upper left for the game winner.

Tiemann came up with the ensuing draw control and ran out the remaining seconds as the Saints extended their program record winning streak to six. Miles recorded a season-high 12 saves between the pipes. Hynes scored two goals, while Helen Bae and Reagan Rukstad both chipped in two assists.
