Town and Country, Mo. - In Great Lakes Valley Conference action, the Maryville men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 12 Southwest Baptist Friday at Woodsmill Racquet Club.

In doubles play, the visiting Bearcats narrowly edged the Saints at No. 2 doubles by a 6-4 score, and at No. 3 doubles in a 6-3 victory. SBU features two ranked doubles teams that pulled out the first team point.

The top singles slot featured a clash of nationally ranked individuals, as No. 37 Makary Adamek defeated
Mario Aleksic, who was No. 15 in the last rankings, by a 6-4, 6-4 decision.

At No. 2 singles,
Tom Schmitt faced No. 32 Youssef Nabil but lost in straight sets 6-3, 6-0.
Sebastian Trigosso lost his opening set at No. 3 but bounced back with a 7-5 tiebreak win to push the match to a decisive third set. However, he dropped the third set 6-3. SBU took the fourth singles match by a 6-1, 6-2 count as the final contested meeting.
