Indianapolis - The Maryville men's tennis team hit the road to challenge the No. 2 team in the county but Indianapolis proved worthy of its ranking in handling the Saints 7-0.
The No. 1 Saints doubles team of
Jose Hernandez and
Tom Schmitt pushed their match to a tiebreak but the Greyhounds prevailed. UIndy took the match at No. 2 doubles and the opening team point.
Hernandez managed to take five games in his singles match at the top slot, but the Greyhounds prevailed in the other three singles contests, including two walkovers by UIndy.
The Saints host Missouri-St. Louis for their next match Saturday, April 8, in an 11 a.m. match to be played at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
