Quincy, Ill. – The Maryville women's lacrosse team scored the first 13 goals of the game and sailed by Quincy 17-5 Wednesday in a nonconference game.
Jessie Hynes led the Saints with five goals, while
Helen Bae scored twice and handed out four assists.
Sydney Tiemann finished with seven points on four goals and three assists, while
Chloe Elliott tallied four times.
Gianna Guzek made a season-high 12 saves in goal.

Quincy recap
Helen Bae opened the scoring in the second minute of play before Tiemann picked up her first of the quarter.
Chloe Elliott fired in a goal before the Saints won the next draw control and Bae fed Tiemann for a score 23 seconds later. Tiemann completed a hat trick with 9:31 still to play in the opening quarter for a 5-0 cushion.
Jessie Hynes fired in a shot for her first of the day, Elliott followed before Hynes tallied her second.
Reagan Rukstad broke into the scoring column, and Hynes became the second Saint with a hat trick in the quarter. Elliott and Hynes scored in the waning minutes of the quarter as Maryville was up 12-0 after 15 minutes.

In the second period, Hynes scored her fifth of the day 58 seconds in as the Saints pushed their advantage to 13-0. The Hawks finally scored their first goal with five minutes left in the second quarter. Quincy scored again as the Saints took a 13-2 lead into halftime.

After QU started the third with a goal Elliott notched a player-down score to make it 14-3. Maryville's margin was 14-4 after 45 minutes of action. The Saints scored the first three goals in the opening five minutes of the fourth quarter to put the game away. Guzek made five saves in the first quarter to blank the Hawks and had nine stops by halftime.
