Indianapolis – For the second consecutive week, Maryville University freshman goalie Gianna Guzek was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending March 10.
 
Guzek limited No. 6 Grand Valley State to a season-low six goals, and only two in the first half, in a 7-6 victory over the Lakers. She made four saves in the game, including a free-position attempt with 8:40 left in the game and the Saints leading by two goals. Guzek also had a crucial stop with just over five minutes remaining in the contest. She tacked on two ground balls and two caused turnovers. No. 6 Grand Valley State is the highest ranked team the Saints have defeated in program history.

The unbeaten Saints (7-0) are ranked a program-best ninth in the IWLCA poll and hit the road to play at No. 5 Regis Friday, March 15.
