EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Eighth-seeded Maryville University fell 4-3 to fourth-seeded McKendree University on Friday afternoon in a close elimination game at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.

In Saturday's elimination game, Maryville started strong with two runs in the top of the first inning. The team got an RBI double from
Emily Corona scoring
Brooklyn Moore and an RBI single to right-center from
Taylor Duff, bringing Corona home. McKendree then responded with a run in each of the first three innings to put the Saints down 3-1.

In the top of the sixth inning, the squad tied the game at 3-3 off a double from
Isabella Garcia to left field, scoring
Jenna Kosnoff. Tied 3-3 in a tight Friday showdown, the game went to 10 innings where the Saints fell 4-3 in walk-off fashion.
