ST. LOUIS – The Maryville women's lacrosse team saw a record-breaking season come to an end in the 2025 NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals with a 15-11 defeat to No. 2 seed Indianapolis.
Helen Bae and
Chloe Elliott both recorded hat tricks to pace the offense. The Saints set a school record for victories this season with 19 and won their first Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament title.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints shot out of the gate by scoring the first four goals of the game.
Kylie Pettus opened the scoring at the 9:49 mark, and
Devyn Dimovitz scored 43 seconds later for a 2-0 lead. Elliott scored her first on the day, and Pettus made it 4-0 at the 5:28 mark. UIndy scored its first goal but Bae answered to make it 5-1. However, the Greyhounds reeled off seven straight goals to surge into the lead. Maryville was held scoreless in the second as UIndy took an 8-5 cushion into halftime.

Elliott broke the scoring drought early in the third, and a
Gaby Quinones goal made it 9-7 with 4:20 remaining in the third. The Greyhounds racked up three more goals late to push their advantage to 12-7.
Reagan Rukstad deposited a goal to start the fourth but UIndy answered with a pair of goals to make it 14-8. The Saints made one late rally. Elliott fired in a goal with just over nine minutes remaining before Bae converted back-to-back chances to pull the Saints to within 14-11 with 3:14 to play. However, UIndy won the following draw control and scored to seal the victory.
