ST. LOUIS – The Maryville women's lacrosse team rolled into the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament finals with a dominating 16-3 victory over Missouri Western. The victory is the 17th straight for the Saints to tie the program record for longest winning streak.
Marissa Zeno led the charge with five goals, and
Chloe Elliott finished with four goals and one assist, while Natalie added a pair of goals and three assists. The Saints face No. 2 seed Indianapolis for the GLVC title Sunday, May 4, in an 11 a.m. start.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Zeno jump started a 5-0 run with a goal 36 seconds into the contest, and followed up with a second a minute later. Elliott found the net, and a score by
Emmery Clark made it 4-0.
Kylie Pettus tallied to push the Maryville margin to five. Missouri Western scored in the final minute of the first but Zeno again answered in the opening seconds of the second quarter. MWSU scored but
Devyn Dimovitz hammered in a shot. Elliott scored her second as the Saints took an 8-2 edge into halftime.

Maryville took control in the third period by putting six in the net and holding the Griffons scoreless for more than 25 minutes in the second half. Once again Zeno found a goal in the first minute of a period to start the 7-0 run.
Natalie Tomljenovic and Zeno scored on back-to-back possessions, and Elliott finished her hat trick as the margin grew to double digits. The Saints sealed the win with a pair of goals in the fourth by
Izzy Watts and
Libbey Pacanowski.
Gianna Guzek limited MWSU to only three scores and came up with seven saves.
