Paige Murphy was recognized as the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division II National Player of the Week. Earlier in the day, she was voted the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Offensive Player of the Week.
Murphy piled up 16 goals and two assists for 18 points in a pair of victories. She went a perfect 6-for-6 on free-position shots, tacked on nine draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers for the week. Murphy began her week with six goals and had one assist against No. 25 Alabama Huntsville. She had four goals during the decisive 9-0 run as the Saints took control of the game. Murphy finished with five draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
She followed up by firing in 10 goals at Concordia St. Paul to tie the mark for the second most goals scored in a game in program history. Murphy added one assist versus CSP for 11 points, tied for the fifth-most in a single game at Maryville. She also chipped in four draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Murphy and the Saints are next in action with a ranked clash at No. 13 Regis Friday, Feb. 20.
