ST. LOUIS  – The No. 4 Maryville women's lacrosse team scored nine of the first 10 goals of the game and soared past Ashland 20-7.
Paige Murphy registered six goals with three assists for nine points to pace the attack.
Helen Bae had two goals and three assists, while
Devyn Dimovitz also notched a hat trick. Maryville saw 11 different players find the back of the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED
On the opening possession,
Kylie Pettus fired in a goal after just 44 seconds had elapsed for a 1-0 lead. Bae won the ensuing draw control and she netted the next score to double the lead. Dimovitz made it 3-0 just after two minutes that forced an Ashland timeout but she tacked on another for a four-goal lead.

Ashland finally got on the board before
Mady Richert and Murphy answered for the Saints. Bae fired in another score, and
Natalie Tomljenovic made it 9-1. The Eagles scored their second but Murphy scored to make it 10-2 after the first. Murphy tacked on a goal to open the second but Ashland recorded its third. Murphy and Dimovitz answered with goals 21 seconds apart, and
Emmery Clark followed. Murphy fired in her sixth goal of the half as the Saints took a 15-3 lead into the break.

Christina Bae took over in goal for Guzek and made two saves in the third. Tomljenovic,
Libby Knapp and
Gaby Quinones scored for the Saints in the frame.
Annabelle Letts was Maryville's third goalie and also made two stops in the period.
Lilly Johnson and
Jada Crispin tacked on goals in the fourth to close out the scoring.
