HOW IT HAPPENED
It looked to be a good day for the Saints early as
Addison Koth converted a Lenon double into a run on a ball ripped up the middle, giving Maryville a 1-0 lead after the top of the first.
Â
The Miners responded with an explosion in the bottom half of the inning, plating five runs on a pair of errors and a three-run home run.
It took until the fourth for the Saints to chip a run back on the board, doubling to right field. Wagner would do the same in the top of the seventh, bringing the Miner lead to just two. The hits kept coming for the Saints, with
Marley Williamson adding in her own RBI on a groundout bringing the game to one.
Â
An
Emily Erb walk put the tying run aboard, but the Saints were unable to finish the comeback.
