Maryville University Athletics

Matt Russo joined the bowling staff as an assistant at the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign. He helped Head Coach Lauren Pate propel Maryville to new heights in his first season, as the Saints made their first NCAA Tournament appearance after posting a 99-46 overall head-to-head record.
 
Russo currently bowls on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour, where he won the 2021 PBA Jonesboro Open Championship on his way to becoming the 2021 PBA Rookie of the Year. He is also a member of the PBA Las Vegas High Rollers team, a seven-time member of the Team USA, and a two-time member of the USA Junior Team.
 
Before the PBA, Russo was a member of the Webber International University program where he won a pair of NAIA National Championships, earning MVP of the tournament in both years. He additionally won a 2019 Intercollegiate Team Championship and claimed MVP honors there as well.
 
Russo graduated from Webber International in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Hospitality & Tourism Management.
