Brandon joined the Saints as an assistant coach after a very successful collegiate career at Maryville University. He was a 3 year starter at 125 lbs for the Saints. He is a valuable addition to the coaching staff working with the lighter weight classes. He brings experience at the National level in wrestling and Judo to the program.
2013-14: A Senior Captain who was a leader by example, following his theme of “no regrets” he had his best year. A 3 year starter and letterman who helped lay the foundation for Maryville wrestling, finished 18-17, going 6-5 in duals, qualified for the National Tournament with an outstanding performance at the NCAA Super Region II Tournament, finishing 4th, was named second team NWCA Division II Academic All-American, placed 5th at the Kaufman Brand, 6th at the Midwest Classic and 2nd at Wm. Penn Open, was selected Wrestler of the Week 9 times, OOOSSS Award Winner 7 times, selected Most Improved, received the Dr. Lombardi Saint Award, Outstanding Senior Award and Outstanding Senior Scholar Award.
2012-13: Finished 10-18 going 1-6 in dual. Named NCAA Division II Academic All-American Honorable Mention. Placed 4th at Missouri Valley Invitational helping Saints to first-ever team tournament championship, his pin of McKendree’s Dylon Viglasky in 1:57, was big in Maryville’s 25-13 dual win. Went 1-2 at NCAA Super Region Three tournament. Maryville’s Wrestler of the Week for his performance at Missouri Valley Invitational and McKendree dual also won team’s OOOSSS Award for both matches won Maryville Wrestling Scholar Award for juniors with a 3.19 GPA. Team’s Rebounding Power Award Winner, also earned his 2nd letter for the wrestling Saints.
2011-12: Finished 10-16 placed second at William Penn Open. Maryville Wrestling scholar Award (Sophomore) Outstanding Sophomore. Wrestler of the Week Winner (four times). Lettered for first time OOOSSS Award Winner for performance in William Penn Open
High School: Four-time wrestling and Judo state qualifier in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH). Hawaii high school Judo state and national championships 1st place(2008). Hawaii high school state wrestling championships 3rd place (2009) Pac-5 wrestling and Judo team captain in 2009. Regional’s (ILH) wrestling 3rd place (2007-08), and 3rd place (2009-10). Regional’s (ILH) Judo 1st place (2007-08), and 3rd place (2009-10). Pac-5 wrestling 2-time most outstanding (2007-08,2009-10). Pac-5 Judo most outstanding (2008).
