James joins the Maryville Wrestling coaching staff after completing his athletic eligibility and undergraduate education at Maryville University. James earned his
Business Administration degree in the spring of 2018. James finished his wrestling career as a four-year starter, a three-time Super Region place finisher, an NCAA All-
American, and a GLVC All-Conference 1st-Team selection. “Snake” finished his career with 91 total match victories. As a junior, James reached the regional finals and went on to finish his season with a 7th place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships. James’ senior year was another standout year, producing 31 victories, a Midwest Classic Championship, and a 5th place finish at the regional tournament. James also extended his success to the classroom and was selected to the NWCA All-Academic Team for two straight years. He had a big part in helping win the NWCA Academic Team National Championship. James is continuing his graduate education at Maryville. He is earning his Master’s in Business Administration, while helping the Saints as an Assistant Coach.
