Coach James Reynolds begins his fifth season with the Maryville University Saints. James made the move from Omaha to St. Louis with Coach Mike Denney to start the program at Maryville University. Coach Reynolds brings with him a great knowledge of the sport and passion that motivates others. During his seasons with the Saints, Reynolds has helped coach 13 NCAA Division II All-Americans and one NCAA Division II National Champion. Coach Reynolds continues to practice and train with the athletes on a daily basis. During the summer of 2012, Reynolds was chosen to serve as a coach at the National Wrestling Coaches Association Leadership Academy. The academy, comprised of younger up-and-coming coaches, served as training to for future long term coaches to build success within an organization.

In the fall of 2008 Reynolds relocated to Omaha, Nebraska from his home town of Alamosa, Colorado to attend Graduate School at the University of Nebraska Omaha. He began coaching at UNO in the spring of 2009 while working on his Master’s Degree in Physical Education Coaching. During Reynolds’ three seasons at UNO, the Mavericks won three National titles as a team with five individual champions and twenty four All-Americans.

Reynolds attended Adams State College (University) where he wrestled for Coach Jason Ramstetter. Throughout Reynolds’ career at Adams State, he beat a number of ranked athletes as well as All-Americans. Reynolds had also made several appearances in the NWCA Division II National Rankings. While attending Adams State, Reynolds spent the summers building homes and working on the farm. During his free time in the San Luis Valley he enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and mountain biking. James finished his education at Adams State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Performance Physical Education K-12 in December of 2007. After finishing his career at Adams he decided to start his coaching career with his long time mentor and friend, Coach Jason Ramstetter. James helped coach the Grizzlies to a fifth place finish as a team at the 2008 NCAA Division II National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Reynolds graduated from Sargent High School (Monte Vista, CO.) in 2002. Under Coach Tony Linn, Reynolds was a 3X state qualifier as well as All-Region and Colorado State Placer as a senior. His Parents, James and Tammy Reynolds, both still reside in Alamosa where James attended college. Reynolds has two younger siblings; Mike (25) and Catherine (22). He is also an uncle to Juliana Faith, his younger brother, Mike’s, daughter.
