ACCOMPLISHMENTS
2021-22: Cody was making valuable improvements but a shoulder injury and shoulder surgery cut short this season. Cody remained dedicated and committed to the team even though he was unable to get on the mat. Cody earned the following awards Staying Power Award, and 3x Varsity Letter Award. Cody is a valuable addition to our team and makes our Dojo a “Better Place”. “The Best is Yet to Come” for him.
2020-21(COVID Shortened Season): Maryville Wrestling OOOSSS Man Cody, who wrestled some Varsity for us earned the following award 2X Varsity Letter Award. Cody brings an energy to the Dojo that is unmatched and lifts others up. Cody has the “Right Ingredients” to make an impact in DII Wrestling. His work ethic is evident in all he does and chooses to pursue. Cody is developing into a “Leader by Example” and is eager to show what he is capable of.
2019-20: Cody's Word is Vision. He has the Vision to be successful. That Vision combined with his "Work Power" and Commitment has earned the Respect of his Teammates and Coaches. He is a "Positive Force" on the Team. He finished his RS Freshman campaign with a 13-13 record. Finished 6th at the Kaufman/Brand/ Bayly Open, and 5th at the LU Open. Cody earned the Wrestler of the Week Award and OOOSSS Award honors two times. Cody earned the Dr. Lombardi Saint Award, the Staying Power Award, the Varsity Letter Award, and received Geico GLVC Team Academic All-Conference honors. "Samson" makes our Dojo a "Better Place".
2018-19: Cody’s work power and discipline led him to a successful freshman season. Competing unattached, “Samson”, earned 2nd at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open, a Co-Champion at the Pat “Flash” Flanagan Open, 4th at the Greyhound Open, and 6th at the Missouri Valley Open. Cody earned the Jim “Bongo” Bayly Iron Discipline
Warrior Award and the Outstanding Redshirt Award. For his standout performances, Cody was voted a Wrestler of the Week and OOOSSS Award winner four times. Cody will look to make an impact next year at 174 lbs because he brings his best to the Dojo every day. He is one of our top young wrestlers who models the way.

A graduate of Gretna High School in Gretna, NE, Cody followed former high school teammate and heavyweight Logan Radik to Maryville. Cody won two state medals and two district titles in four trips to the state tournament for Gretna.
