ACCOMPLISHMENTS
2016-17: Donnell, a four year starter and Senior Captain at 285lbs, finished his career fourth on the Maryville All-Time Top Ten Career Win List with 116 career wins and third on the All-Time Single Season Win List with 36 wins during the 2013-14 season. He finished his career as a three time National Qualifier, a two time Super Regional Champion and a two time NCAA Division II All-American finishing fourth and sixth. He was selected Maryville’s Male Athlete of the Year after the 2015-16 season. He was selected to the GLVC All Conference First Team this season. He finished the season with a 24-7 overall record and 11-2 dual meet record. He finished his career with a 38-6 dual meet record. He finished second at the Midwest Classic and won the Super Region III Championship with an outstanding performance. He earned the Team’s 20 Match Award (24 matches won), Super Region III Championship Award and 100 Win Club Award. He was selected Wrestler of the Week seven times and OOOSSS Award Winner five times.
2015-16: Capped off his season with an outstanding performance at the Super Regional Tournament and the National Tournament where he became a two-time All- American. He has 92 career wins. He went 4-0 in the UNI Open to win the 285 lb Championship. He finished Second and went 4-1 in the Midwest Classic and helped the team to its second consecutive Midwest Classic Championship. He went 4-0 in the National Duals to help the team finish in fourth place. He was 11-0 in duals for the season. He had an outstanding performance at the Super Regional Tournament going 4-1 and finishing Third in a tough 285 lb weight class and helped the team win its second consecutive Regional Championship and qualified for his second National Tournament. He wrestled to his second All-American honor at the National Tournament with a sixth place finish. He finished the season with a 25-5 record and was 11-0 in duals. He earned the team’s Wrestler of the Week honor 10 times and the OOOSSS Award 9 times.
2014-15: Returning All-American ready to resume his duty as the team’s top heavyweight and should be an All-American contender next season. Was injured in Lindenwood Dual and missed the rest of the season. “Big Bear” did finish the match and it gave the Saints a 18-17 victory with his win. Was 31-6 (8-1 in duals). Went 3-1 at National Duals. Won University of Central Missouri Open going 5-0. Captured Maryville’s Kaufman/Brand Open. Was second at William Penn. Finished third at Midwest Classic to help Maryville win the team title. Fourth at Lindenwood and sixth at Missouri Valley International. Had six falls during season with his fastest in 38 seconds. Was named Maryville’s Wrestler of the Week ten times during the season. Earned the team’s OOOSSS Award five times throughout the season.
2013-14: Had an outstanding redshirt freshman year establishing himself as one of the top heavyweight wrestlers in the nation, a leader on the team, had a tremendous Super Regional and National Tournament, Super Region II Champion and selected Outstanding Freshman for the Region Tournament, earned All-American honors at the National Tournament finishing 4th, one of 2 freshman at the National Tournament to finish in the top 4 of their weight class, finished 36-10, 8-3 in duals, 1st at the UCM Open, 2nd at Lindenwood, 3rd at the Kaufman/Brand, 4th at the Midwest Classic, 1st at the Wm. Penn, went 3-0 at the National Duals, 4th at the Missouri Valley Invitational, Super Region II Champion going 4-0 qualifying for the National Tournament, selected Wrestler of the Week 12 times, OOOSSS Award Winner 12 times, selected Most Improved, Outstanding Freshman, 30 Match Winner with 36 wins, received the Iron Man Award, selected as one of the Outstanding Wrestlers on the team.
2012-13: Redshirted, but competed unattached, wrestling to a 19- 10 mark. Had runner-up finishes at William Penn and Missouri Valley Opens. Was 4th at Denker Open, finished 6th at Central Missouri and Kaufman-Brand Opens. Maryville Wrestler of the Week (5X). Earned Teams OOOSSS Award for his performance at Missouri Valley Open. Named one of Maryville’s Outstanding Redshirts. Also competed for
Maryville’s Men’s Track Team Throwing the shot put during the spring.
High School: 3X State Placer in wrestling, winning a Missouri State Championship his senior season. In football Donnell was selected All State twice. Donnell is also a Missouri State Champion in the Shot-Put with a throw of 57 feet.
