Biography

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
2017-18: Ethan after completing a very successful sophomore season at 197 pounds, moved up a weight
class to 285 pounds for his junior year. He is a leader on our Team and leads by example with his Work Power,
Commitment and Discipline on the mat and in the classroom. His season was shortened and slowed with a severe ankle sprain. He lost valuable mat time but still finished the season with a 17-12 record. He was second at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open, third at the Koch Open, seventh at the Midwest Classic, sixth at the Pat “Flash” Flanagan Open and sixth at the Super Region III Tournament. He is a Dean’s List Student and is a two-time NWCA All-Academic Selection. He was a big part of the Maryville Wrestling Team winning the NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team National Championship. Heis a three-time Varsity Letter Award Winner. He earned the Teams Outstanding Junior award, Rebounding Power Award, Jim “Bongo” Bayly Iron Discipline Award, Dr. Lombardi Saint Award and the Grit Award. He was named Wrestler of the Week five times and the OOOSSS Award Winner once.

2016-17: Ethan completed a very successful Sophomore season. He finished with a 24-8 overall record and 10-1 in dual competition. He won the Kaufman/Brand Open and was selected the Outstanding Wrestler for the 165-285 weight classes. He was sixth at the Joe Parisi Open, second at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open, second at the Midwest classic with a 4-1 record and qualified for the NCAA Division II National Tournament with a second place finish at the Super Region III Tournament. He was selected GLVC All-Conference Second Team going 5-1 in GLVC duals. He had big wins against McKendree and Lindenwood to lead the team to dual meet victories. He was selected to the NWCA All-Academic Second Team for his performance on the mat and in the classroom. He earned the team’s 20-Match Winner Award (24 wins), Most Improved Award, Outstanding Sophomore Award, Dr. Mark Lombardi Saint Award and Iron Discipline Award. He was named Wrestler of the Week eight times and the OOOSSS Award Winner four times.

2013-2014: Brings a third generation of high level, successful wrestling to the Dojo from his grandfather, Charlie Sherertz Sr., his dad, Charlie Sherertz Jr. and now him, has the determination, dedication, background and work ethic to be successful, placed 6th in the Kaufman/Brand, 6th at the Missouri Valley Invitational contributing to Maryville winning its 2nd team title, was 1-0 in Lombardi Duals, competed at the Super Region II Tournament, selected Wrestler of the Week 3 times, OOOSSS Award Winner twice, Letterman Award.

High School: Ethan Sherertz adds to an impressive group of signees from the Show-Me state in the Maryville 2013-14 recruiting class...Missouri Class 1 State Champion as a Senior...Placed 4th as a Junior, 3x state qualifier; 2x district Champ...Earned Academic Missouri all state twice ...Helped the warriors win 2 state titles.
