ACCOMPLISHMENTS
2020-21(COVID Shortened Season): Jay was able to get some valuable matches this year and has kept improving, earning the following awards. Redshirt Freshman Scholar Award, Most Improved, Outstanding Redshirt Freshman, NWCA Scholar All American, Dr. Lombardi Saint Award, Varsity Letter Award, DII Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. “Yeti” has all the “Right Stuff” to have an impact in the GLVC Conference and DII Wrestling. Jay has been dedicated to doing all the right things to be successful on the mat and in the classroom. He is a “Positive Force” on our team and is a “Leader By Example”.

2019-20: Jay had a very successful first year. He is one of our top young Wrestlers who has all the "Right Stuff" to have success on and off the mat. He is a "Positive Force" on the Team. He completed his redshirt campaign with an 18-14 record. Finished 5th at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open, 8th at the LU Open, and 5th at the MO Valley Open. Jay earned Wrestler of the Week and OOOSSS Award honors four times. Jay earned the Dr. Lombardi Saint Award and is the recipient of the 2019-2020 Geico GLVC Team Academic All-Conference Award. The "Best is Yet to Be" for "Yeti".

The Maryville Wrestling Team would like to welcome Freshman, James (Jay) Anding, from Pacific High School, Pacific, MO. "We think Jay is a great fit for our Wrestling Program and Maryville University. He has all the "right stuff" to have success on the mat and in the classroom. We welcome Jay to our Wrestling Program. We are pleased to have him and his family join our Maryville Wrestling Family.
