ACCOMPLISHMENTS
2020-21(COVID Shortened Season): Max faced some adversity this season, but remained focused academically and earned the following awards. Redshirt Sophomore Scholar Award, NWCA Scholar All-American, Dr. Lombardi Saint Award, DII Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2X GLVC Academic All-Conference. “Maximus” has the “Right Stuff” to make a difference in DII Wrestling. Max is a valued member of our team, and raises the level of our Dojo. “The Best is Yet to Come” for “Maximus”.

2019-20: Max has done all the right things to improve and get better on and off the mat. The "Work Power", Commitment and Valuable Experience means the "Best is Yet to Come" for him. He finished his RS-Freshman campaign with a 12-12 record. He finished 6th at the Jim Koch Open, 4th at the MO Valley Open, and 2nd at the Greyhound Open. Max earned the Wrestler of the Week and OOOSSS Award honors three times. Max earned the Dr. Lombardi Saint Award, the Most Improved Award, the Bongo Ultimate Utility Award, and the NWCA Scholar All-American Award, the Rebounding Power Award, was selected for the Div. II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, and received Geico GLVC Team Academic All-Conference honors. "Maximus" is a valuable addition to our Team and makes our Dojo a“Better Place”.
2018-19: Whitfield product and blue-chip recruit, Max Darrah, joined the Maryville Wrestling program at the beginning of the spring semester. Competing unattached, Max compiled a 6-5 record. Max was 4th at the Pat “Flash” Flanagan Open, 5th at the Greyhound Open, and earned the Jim “Bongo” Bayly Iron Discipline Warrior Award. For his performances, Max earned the Wrestler of the Week and OOOSSS Award two times. Max has had success at all levels of wrestling thus far and will continue to have success at the collegiate level with continued hard work and dedication.

HIGH SCHOOL
A graduate of Whitfield High School in St. Louis, MO, Max followed former Whitfield alumni, Dylan Shotwell and All-American Ethan Sherertz, to Maryville. Max was a two-time state champion, three-time state finalist, and had 110 falls in high school. Max earned All-America honors at Cadet/Junior Nationals in Fargo three times, ND, and made numerous appearances in the InterMat, FloWrestling, and WIN Magazine national high school rankings. Max was also a finalist at the prestigious Super 32 tournament and qualified for the freestyle Junior World Team Trials.
