Bria Bates began working at Maryville University August 2018 as assistant athletic trainer. She spent the previous two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Campbell University.

Bates was an intern athletic trainer at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C., and spent one summer at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She worked at various high schools, including Rabun (Ga) County, A.C. Reynolds High School and Cherokee High School.

Bates graduated from Western Carolina University in 2014 with a bachelor’s of science degree in athletic training. She earned her master’s from Campbell University in 2018.
