Matt Baker won Maryville's first national championship since joining Division II as he claimed the title of the 197-pound classification at the NCAA wrestling national championship in Birmingham, Ala.

Baker defeated Brandonn Johnson in the semifinals and faced Romero Cotton in the championship match. Baker earned a one-point escape to win a thrilling TB-1, 5-4 decision for the title.
