Men’s Soccer Plays Two GLVC Games in Indiana

THIS WEEK:
The Maryville men's soccer plays two Great Lakes Valley Conference contests in Indiana this weekend. The Saints take on Saint Joseph’s Friday, Oct. 12, then play at Indianapolis Sunday, Oct. 14.
 
MORE ON MARYVILLE:
Gus Reinitz leads the Saints with three goals, and Matt Bearley has scored twice. Alex Brown has distributed a team-best three assists, while Zach Bavol has chipped in two assists. James Hohenstein has played 1,040 minutes with a 1.90 GAA and come up with 41 saves this season.
                
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH’S:
3-9-0, 2-8-0 in GLVC had won two straight until falling in last outing at Quincy. Kevin Amaizo three goals to pace the Pumas.  Steve Quella top goaltender with 2.02 GAA and 53 saves.
 
ABOUT INDIANAPOLIS:
5-6-2 overall, 4-4-2 in the league. Reid Strain leads the GLVC in goals with 12, while Paul Scheipeter has amassed four assists. Andrew Verhonik has played every minute and carries a 1.71 GAA with 61 saves.
 
RECAPPING LAST WEEK:
JT File and Gus Reinitz scored for Maryville before Wisconsin-Parkside tallied twice in the final 10 minutes en route to a 4-2 victory. Lewis scored in the final minute of play to escape with a 1-0 win over the Saints. Kyle Leveling started in goal and made seven saves on the day.
 
LOOKING AHEAD:
The Saints have a split travel weekend as they head to Quincy for a game Friday, Oct. 19, then return home for their final home game of the year Sunday, Oct. 21, in a 2:30 p.m. contest against Illinois Springfield.
