Quincy entered Friday night’s contest as the No. 11 team in the country and scored two goals 15 minutes apart to ease to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Maryville Saints.

Ryan Seifert and the Hawks scored less than a minute into the game to tally the only goal they would need. The Saints looked for the equalizer but the Quincy defense did not surrender many chances as Maryville took just two shots in the first half. In the 17th minute, the Hawks doubled their lead and settled for a 3-0 advantage at intermission.

Zach Kos had the Saints best scoring chance in the second half but Quincy keeper D.J. Lampert saved the attempt. The Saints picked up their attack in the second half and managed five shots but were unable to dent one of the best defenses in the GLVC. The Hawks added an insurance tally midway through the second half to improve to 11-1-3, 9-1-3 in the conference.

The Saints slip to 3-13 overall, 3-10 in the GLVC. Maryville returns home Sunday to host Illinois Springfield for Senior Day in a 2:30 p.m. start.
