Box Score Wisconsin-Parkside boxscore in PDF

Wisconsin-Parkside scored the game winner in the 84th minute and held on for a wild 4-2 victory over Maryville Friday in a driving rainstorm Friday afternoon. The Great Lakes Valley Conference game was moved to the Scott Gallagher Fields in Maryland Heights, Mo.

JT File put the Saints on the board first when he headed in a lofted pass from Zach Bavol in the 15th minute of action. The Rangers drew level in the 27th minute on a penalty kick, and the game eventually moved to intermission tied at 1-1. Wisconsin-Parkside edged ahead early in the second half when a long shot curled under the crossbar for a 2-1 margin five minutes after halftime. The Saints equalized in the 56th minute when Nate Alonzo’s long corner kick found Gus Reinitz on the far side of the cage for a 2-2 tie. However, the Rangers struck late when Marc Glidden collected a through ball from Kinkade Lo to score the game-winning goal. Wisconsin-Parkside added an insurance tally in the waning moments of the game to seal the victory.

The Saints slip to 2-10 overall, 2-7 in the GLVC. The Rangers improve to 4-6-1, 3-6 in the conference. Maryville is back in action Sunday when it hosts Lewis.
