No. 19 ranked Drury used a big second half to pull away from Marvyille in Great Lakes Valley Conference action Friday night in Springfield, Mo. Down 1-0 at halftime, the Saints saw the Panthers post a 5-0 win.

In the first half, Gus Reinitz had Maryville's best scoring chance of the opening 45 minutes when his shot tested Drury keeper Blake Andrews but the game remained scoreless. The game appeared as if it was heading to intermission with no score, but Shane Woods struck for the Panthers with just 17 seconds left to play in the first half.

Woods tallied again on a kick from the spot in the 58th minute as the Panthers doubled their lead. The Saints pressed forward to try and cut into the Drury lead but the Panthers defense kept Maryville off the scoreboard. With both teams emptying their benches late, the Panthers tacked on insurance goals late.

The Saints are now 2-8 overall, 2-5 in the league. Drury improves to 7-1-1 overall, 4-1-1 in the GLVC. Maryville is back in action Sunday at Missouri S&T.
