Missouri S&T tallied two second-half goals to down the visiting Maryville Saints in Great Lakes Valley Conference men’s soccer action Sunday. The visiting Saints took 12 shots and put four on net but were unable to draw a goal back.

Alex Brown both narrowly missed giving the Saints an early lead midway through the first half. Missouri S&T nearly scored in the 31stt minute of play but the Saints defense cleared the ball off the line as the game was tied 0-0 at halftime.
Ten minutes into the second half, the Miners struck for a goal on a rebound to take a 1-0 lead. The Saints looked to knot the score but three chances misfired. As the Saints pushed up the field, the Miners nearly doubled their lead but Hohenstein kept the Saints within one goal. However, Missouri S&T finally scored again to put the game away 2-0. The Saints had three more good scoring chances in the waning minutes but Miner keeper Matt Jackson came up with three saves to preserve the shutout.
The Saints are now 2-9, 2-6 in the GLVC, and Missouri S&T ups its mark to 5-4-1 overall, 4-4 in the conference.
