Kory Clawson had two shots in front of the Drury net, including a bicycle kick that just missed the mark. The Panthers took the lead at the 35:32 mark when Ivan Borka dribbled up the left side of the field and lifted a high pass to Langford who redirected the pass into the net. The Panthers nearly scored again when Jack Mathis hit a free kick that rang off the crossbar late in the first half.

Early in the second half, Gus Reinitz shook loose and hit a driving shot that was headed to the right side of the Drury net, but Blake Andrews stretched out to tip the ball away. The Saints later earned a corner kick which led to a great scoring chance by Kevin Ptacek, but his shot just missed wide. Clawson had two more late chances in the final minutes but was unable to find the mark as the Panthers escaped the Maryville upset bid.
