Truman State's Nick Tolmais scored in each half to push the host Bulldogs past Maryville 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams. The Saints fall to 0-2 overall, 1-0 in the GLVC while the Bulldogs remain perfect at 3-0, 1-0 in the league.

The Bulldogs had two early scoring chances but Saints keeper
Josh Richter came up with two saves.
Alex Brown had Maryville's first scoring chance but his blast just missed wide. In the 30th minute,
Ryan Butchart knocked a shot over the crossbar as the game stayed scoreless. However, after TSU hit the crossbar, Tolmais scored at 31:58 to put the Bulldogs on top.

Midway through the second half, the Saints had three scoring opportunities but were unable to find the back of the net. Truman State drew a foul in the penalty area, and Tolmais converted from the spot to double the lead.
